Raising Healthy Children
3:00 PM – 3:45 PM
Sunday, October 22nd
Childhood illnesses are on the rise: Seasonal allergies, food allergies, asthma, frequent infections, ADHD, Autism and autoimmune diseases. In this workshop, we will cover the multiple factors contributing to the rise in these illnesses (food system issues, underlying food sensitivities, malnutrition, malabsorption, underlying gut issues, environmental toxins, etc.. We will focus on what it takes to raise truly healthy children, focusing on essential nutrients for gut and brain health and how to get these nutrients into little ones. Tips for simple meal preparation and getting children to eat will be shared.
Annmarie Cantrell, MEd is a former early childhood developmental specialist, working in early intervention for over 20 years. Her own illness prompted her to study food and its impact on health. After attending the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts, she began a career as a food educator and chef, helping people weave their way through dietary mazes to find their way back to REAL foods to nourish bodies, minds and spirits. She is particularly passionate about the health of children in this country and works closely with parents of children with allergies, ADHD and Autism helping them clean up the diet and environmental factors that influence these diagnoses.
